The Hobonichi Cousin, my mainstay yearly planner, came with a hefty price tag in 2026 (not surprising in this year of tariffs and other hijinx, but still). Despite my decade of loyalty, I went looking for an alternative repository for my plans and thoughts. I landed on the Sterling Ink daily planner which--and this was most important--uses the same Tomoe River paper as the Hobonichi. It also shares many of the same gridded layouts including yearly, quarterly, monthly, and daily, plus a bunch of extra blank pages. The transition was so seamless for me that I can’t break the habit of calling this planner "my Hobo.”
